  1. It is sad that Portland is allowing the destruction of its rich history. They did the same in the San Francisco bay area and now it's a bland blanket of McMansions. Yuck. I'm sad to see the new development patterns.

    1. Yep. But the developers don't care. They will move onto the next victim city once no one wants to live here anymore.

  2. Demolition is happening at a frightening rate ~ slightly more than one home per day! What goes up in the place of the old home is an abomination. Mostly so ugly, I am surprised anyone would buy it.

    1. I wonder that myself. I look at what you get old and what you get new. I just can wrap my head around buying a new house. Not a lot of value there.

    1. Yes and either way (keep or raze) they pay a separate contractor for asbestos removal. They have to sell 2 houses on 50x50 lots. One with a view of a commercial building and parking lot....
