I recently bought this original photo of the abandoned Flavel house in Astoria. The house was just recently put on the market!!!

  2. They have done such a wonderful job with the Flavel house on 8th, it is such a shame that the historical society can't do the same with this one. Living in Astoria as a little girl, I was always both awed and scared by this old place.

    I just discovered your blog and it is fabulous, thank you! It's been several years since I've been home so it's so easy to lose hours reminiscing, looking at the wonderful old photos and imagining the days gone by :)

  3. Just visited the Flavel house on 8th on Friday..you might find this article interesting regarding locating Mary Louise Flavel...haven't heard what the outcome of the city's action was
